ICYMI: Southern Living named Gainesville, GA #17 Best Cities On the Rise!
"While Gainesville has long been Georgia’s favorite resort destination, Lake Lanier is just one of its many draws. The lake’s sprawling footprint continues to welcome visitors and new residents alike, who seek fun in the sun and plenty of aquatic recreation along its 38,000 acres. Plus, there’s a boutique-filled downtown district and a spate of new restaurants that have opened up over the last few years."
"According to the U.S. Census, the South is the place to be. Not only is it the most populous region in the country, it accounted for 87% of our country’s growth in 2023. Plus, the South is the only region that maintained population growth during the pandemic. Visit any of the places on this year's Best Cities On the Rise list and you’ll quickly understand why."

It's Mural Monday!
Featured Mural: Bridge to Somewhere, on the Outdoor Fitness Court
Location: Midland Greenway, 422 Banks St, Gainesville, GA 30501
Gainesville Parks and Recreation installed a public fitness court in 2022, designed by the National Fitness Campaign, in the Midland Historic District. The 32ft x 8ft mural, “A Bridge to Somewhere,” was created by local artist Nichole Rawlings Ferguson. This particular court was selected because of an option to highlight a local artist’s work.
Nichole is an art historian and artist living in Gainesville, Georgia. She spent 10 years working at Brenau University in the art galleries where she was involved in numerous public art projects, and she is thrilled to contribute to the art and wellness of her community. Nichole lives on a farm in North Hall with her family where she draws inspiration for her life and work.
This piece was another landmark public art piece in Midland Arts District, the Midland Greenway is fast becoming a favorite destination for locals and visitors, alike!
